‘The X-Files’ Christmas Special 2016 (Review)

IDW rolled out a real Christmas beauty for Agents Scully and Mulder. Mulder finds himself visited by three seasonal spirits, but the rules of A Christmas Carol have undergone some modifications, and they don’t always jive too well with Fox. He’s always been a haunted man, and he’s been fueled by the mysterious disappearance for decades. It’s what pushes him forward. And while he won’t receive the answers he so desperately seeks, he will pick up on a few things that slipped from Mulder’s memory banks.

Archie Halloween Blowout 2012 Review

I know we’ve now left Halloween far in the past, but for horror fanatics like myself, that’s no reason to stop pretending Halloween isn’t 365 days a year. And since its Halloween (still) It seemed like a perfect idea to jump into a holiday themed book, like the Archie Halloween Blowout 2012, for example.

‘Spectacular Spider-Man #4’ Review

I probably can’t stress how much I love this book. Half of the entire issue is spent entangled in a battle for supremacy. The Vulture, who’s been previously bested by Spider-man already, is back with an unbreakable will to destroy the spider. So he goes all out, and these two duke it out like certified studs, Spidey often losing key exchanges, the fight eventually ending in a draw if ever there were a draw.

Twilight Zone #1 (1962) Review

These early Gold Key books typically featured two or three Twilight Zone tales. The first story in this particular book is titled Perilous Journey, while the second is known as Do Not Touch Exhibit and the final piece is called Voyage to Nowhere.

‘Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens #3’ Review

The third issue of this fan favorite mini-series starts on an interesting note, as all the jungle mutants descend upon the judges, capturing them so that they might take him back to the insane doctor who no doubt has some horrible designs for these lawmen. That said, there are Predators and even an Alien or so running amuck, so it won’t be a huge surprise if something else gets to the Judges, first.

‘Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens #2’ Review

Remember that evil scientist we just discussed in my review of issue numero uno? Well, he’s taken his devious ways a step further: he’s mutating children and turning them into human/animal hybrids. This dude is bad news, and you know damn well Judge Dredd knows it!

‘Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens #1’ Review

A handful of Predators, Judge Dredd himself and some nasty aliens all find themselves in hostile rural territory. We already know that the gung-ho Judge Dredd plans on trekking into the rugged terrain to investigate. But inside those secluded wooded areas something sinister brews. Evil scientists, man-hunting animals, and a new threat altogether is going to give Dredd all he can handle.

Margaret Atwood, Johnnie Christmas ‘Angel Catbird Volume 1’ Review

In my personal opinion, it’s important to take risks with comics and graphic novels. There are a great deal of brilliant works out there that go underrated or entirely unheralded when in truth, they may just be impressive enough to earn a place on your personal favorites list. I understand that the average consumer probably can’t afford to grab every book to hit stands or digital outlets on a weekly basis, but I also understand that we’re a little predisposed to the idea that sticking with our established favorites is the safest route to travel when contemplating where to invest our hard-earned bucks. A book like Angel Catbird calls that approach into question, and then some.

Prepare for an R-Rated Justice League Flick!

Justice League Dark will mark a major move for DC, as you just don’t see R-rated flicks associated with the legendary publisher. In 2017 the tides will change, but we’ve already got a new trailer for you to check out. And, no lie, it looks radical and it’s going to have you counting down days until it arrives.
